The foundation in architecture enables nga to go beyond a standard planning and create conducive spaces that are innovate and futuristic. Our approach to be sensitive to the built environment on all levels of human ,civic and social scale make our designs stand out even today.
Our methodology of designing the residential vertical scapes makes us follow the path of the essential 4 R’s and nga has been working on this since the inception of having high rise apartments in Delhi since 1980s .
Architect N.L. Goyal founder of nga had been the prime thinker in making of
the Sarva priya vihar apartments in New Delhi. This stood as one of the first of its kind of high rise residential towers in south Delhi. Architect Nitin and Architect Ritika further developed the basic ideology and have complemented the vertical living scapes with the 4 R’S i.e. REALISTIC, RESPONSIBLE, RESPONSIVE, and RELEVANT.
How does Nga make its living spaces REALISTIC –we have been working on the module of
” true to life “.Today we take pride in our apartment plans where inspite of all limitations we have been able to achieve a cohesive design .
-The designed apartments are practical , functional and communicative.
-Our designs are always inscribed by a clear distinction of public, semi public, semi private and private zones.
-Having a car free zone, central landscaped courts ,mini courts pedestrian walkways and multi level sky walks all add value to the macro and micro settings of the site.
-We have achieved in our design to have a distinctive outer multi functional rooms with attached services to each apartment. This can be a place for home office ,servant quarter or just a place to rent out.
-Every apartment nga designs has a family lounge to enhance the interactive zones and it is vital in our planning to have a living room in the semi public zone with an entrance lobby so that the inmates have the utmost privacy.
How does nga feel RESPONSIBLE for the inmates -We truly feel responsible for every inmate of the house and thus just do not compromise with their holistic growth. We strongly believe in vastu which beyond doubt is not a myth.
-It is a challenge to achieve a cohesive design that has maximum vastu affinity in residential apartments where the mirror effect plays a vital role. Every set of the apartment is planned and re oriented pertaining to the rules of vastu. Our designs have no opposite block as a mirror image ,it is planned considering all the rooms and services oriented in accordance to the best fit locations as per vastu.
-We have been able to achieve the lofty goal of creating vastu plans on each block and have yet achieved a façade to harmonize the whole.
-Incorporating a concept that has purposeful designed spaces which elevate human dignity and improves quality of life following the traditional scientific principles of vastu is our significant expertise.
How does nga create a RESPONSIVE approach-our designs are so developed that they exemplify with the environment in all aspects.
-The orientation and the massing induces wind tunnels in our towers to enhance the velocity of the air thus enhancing the cross ventilation and reducing the heat load.
-In all our residential towers each apartment stands to be 3 to 4 sided open thus giving each resident the feasibility of openness , light , ventilation and to look beyond. The cross ventilation is immense and no room inside the house is without direct light and attached balcony. Thus the artificial light is only required after sunset.
-
-Further the towers become responsive with the multi level sky walks that creates an ingress to natural air and light to pass through clearly acting as a passive cooler. The micro climate so created cools each master path on each floor . This further reduces the air conditioning load of the towers extensively.
-Use of light wells in every block adjacent to the master paths with plantations further enhance the micro areas with the green story.
- The effective use of versatile jalis in the sky walks, lift lobbies, stairways not only shade and create shadows in the transitional spaces but also function as wind stimulators acting as passive coolers. They further reduce the heat inside and block the direct sun.
How does nga create RELEVANT communities- we believe in creating micro neighbour- hoods vertically acting as a social catalyst.
-We have been able to design different modules based on plans and areas on to each floor levels. Thus removing hierarchy and thereby initiating community living.
-We economize by reducing the number of lifts and services on each floor plate which reduces the maintenance cost in the long run
The use of high speed lifts further reduce the waiting time
-The characteristic feature of the towers has been the sky links. These sky lobbies have pertained to give the apartments a cohesive setting to interact , live together and yet act as circulation paths defining privacy, grandeur space, communicative and a breathing hub.
-The people living in these community settings do not feel lonely or segregated ever as these skywalks add as the communicative links.
-The play areas in the landscape, the clubs, community spaces are yet other essentials which make our residential communities socially interactive.
Today we stand tall as even in the situation of the lock down and social distance theory of the pandemic covid 19 – our concept of sky links acted as the private corridors on each floor where this could be used as the breathing corridors for walks, children skating and cycling around. The inmates did not have to go on the ground level to achieve this. It truly framed a small
neighbour- hood on all separate floor plates adding visual connectivity with a distance. Our concept of creating the additional multi functional room outside of each apartment was the well appreciated zone in todays pandemic lockdown times as it provided the space for work from home concept.
Our team has made a conscious effort from time to time and have created concepts that can work positively even in these unpredictable times.
